Vision and values

We have sought to identify and make clear the vision and the values of the Toddlerrific group.  Essentially this means that before any activities are delivered we would check their purpose and values against what you will read below.

Value #1 “Creating Community”

Creating community is at the very heart of Bridge Builders.  Toddlerrific groups are all about creating communities where people

  1. feel and experience being valued,
  2. feel they belong,
  3. feel they can be fully themselves.

Value #2 “Christianity (at the heart of community)”
Bridge Builders is a charitable trust founded on the Christian faith.  From the outset (the first pages of the Bible) God said that it was not good to be alone, and as the rest of the story shows, isolation and loneliness lead to all sorts of greater problems.  God’s response is all to do with reconnecting people, getting people into groups and places where they can feel valued, safe and secure enough to be fully human, to live life to the full.

Value #3 “Excellence”

Toddlerrific’s aim for excellence comes out of values 1&2. Ultimately it is about people and the fact that they matter.  The quality and conditions of the meeting place and facilities, the quality of the programme and the activities are all areas where we seek to show excellence and as part of this, being honest about those things that we are seeking to improve and develop.  How we do things and the quality we ensure, is the proof of whether we are fulfilling our own values.

Value #4 “Committed to Partnership”

Toddlerrific is by its very nature about partnership and offering support.  If your group is a Toddlerrific group then it is in partnership with Bridge Builders Christian Trust, who can provide support and resources for your group.  To find out more about becoming a Toddlerrific group go to [Partners].

Value #5 “Operating with honesty and integrity”

Toddlerrific groups operate independently.  Group committees and coordinators will be responsible for operating the group and ensuring that the values of Toddlerrific are clearly understood and are being met.

Common Questions about Toddlerrific

Does our group have to agree with all of the values to be a Toddlerrific group? Yes, although we appreciate people’s interpretations vary and so we want to talk about anything that is unclear or uncomfortable to you.  We are committed to making our values even clearer and your questions may help us to achieve that.

Do you have to be a Christian to attend a Toddlerrific group?  Absolutely not!  We are however, interested in every person’s views and opinions as to whether we are fulfilling our aims, and there will be times when opportunities to find out more and explore will be offered, for people to take or leave, it is always their choice.

Are all the team members Christian?  Not usually.  Team members will need to be comfortable with the values behind Toddlerrific. Part of valuing people is to ensure that the committee is not exclusive, but sees the positions filled by the best people.

Can a group cease to be a Toddlerrific group?  Essentially Toddlerrific is a growing brand identifiable by the values set out here.  Continued failure to embrace and reflect the aims outlined would lead to Toddlerrific removing its name from a group. One of the main attractions of Toddlerrific is the consistency of quality and we are keen for that to be available to as many people as possible.
